Serge Beraud Sensei, 5th Dan Aikikai

Serge has more than 30 years of experience in Aikido including 5 years at the Hombu dojo in Tokyo between 1987 and 1991 where he also learnt Japanese. He obtained his 2nd Dan there practicing under the guidance of teachers such as the late Doshu Kisshomaru Ueshiba, Yamaguchi sensei, Osawa sensei and Endo sensei. From 1994 with a National Sports teacher diploma, he became an instructor in France under the guidance of Christian Tissier Shihan and was a member of the Grading Committee of the French Federation. He was promoted to 5th Dan in 2013. Serge has been living and working in Singapore since 2006.

Thierry Diagana Sensei, 5th Dan Aikikai

Thierry started Aikido in San Diego (US) in 1996 where he met his first teacher T. K. Chiba Sensei; for 5 years he intensely studied Aikido at the San Diego Aikikai. He then moved to San Francisco and furthered his study under the guidance of G. E. Nomura Sensei at the Aikido Institute of San Francisco. In 2014 he received a Birankai instructor certificate and his Aikikai 5th Dan. Thierry has been living and working in Singapore since 2007.

 

 

Seah Ah Hee Sensei, 4th Dan Aikikai

Seah Ah Hee

Seah Ah Hee Sensei is one of the oldest Aikido practitioners in Singapore and started under Teddy Lee Meng Kum Sensei in 1965. Today he is celebrating 50 years of his Aikido practice.

He was a live-in student in Hombu Dojo in 1977 and 1981. Seah Ah Hee Sensei often commuted to Japan and participated in numerous seminars. Ah Hee Sensei, under the recommendation of Master Lee Yew Yeow, Tai Chi Chuan master, was able to start Aikido classes at the YMCA along Orchard Road. In the late 80s, Senseis Harry Ng, Freddy Khong, George Chang, Seah Ah Hee, Philip Lee and other senior students came together to form the Aikikai (Singapore), thereby obtaining an official recognition from Aikido World Headquarters in Tokyo, Japan.

Seah Ah Hee Sensei holds 4th Dan Aikikai. Expanding his devotion to Martial Arts, Seah Ah Hee Sensei also holds Shihan-dai in Goshindo and is a certified Tai-Chi instructor.

Adrian Tan, 4th Dan Aikikai

Adrian started Aikido in Singapore in 2000 and took a sabbatical in 2005 to train under David Scott Sensei of Australia Aikikai. He returned to Singapore in 2006 and has been teaching since. He specializes in teaching teenagers and kids. He’s head instructor at Anchorvale Community Center. Adrian received People Association Merit Star Trainer Award in 2014 for his outstanding care and concern towards students.

His wife Grace and his both sons are assisting all classes.

 Oly Anise, 3rd Dan Aikikai

Oly was introduced to Aikido in 2002 in Heidelberg, Germany. After moving to Singapore in 2005, Oly rolled across many dojos and seminars in Asia and beyond and continues to be a devoted student of Serge Sensei and Thierry Sensei. Oly has led the Kids and Beginners classes since 2010 and assists Serge Sensei at NTU Aikido Club.

Oly holds 3rd Dan. She took part to prepare and was enrolled into Aikido Instructor course in Mumei Shudan Dojo in 2010.
